HOT SUMMER SCHEDULE:
Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters have an outrageously fun 2010 summer schedule planned, and we hope you’ll make plans to meet us at some of the great venues in which we are scheduled to perform. Among the highlights are:
June 18-20th – Fairfield County Irish Festival, Fairfield, CT
The Fairfield County Irish Festival is BACK and it is going to be spectacular! Imagine Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters, Eileen Ivers & Immigrant Soul and several other great Irish music acts performing on one of several stages at the festival. The Firestarters kick things off on the main stage Friday night and again Saturday evening. Be there for a brilliant weekend of Irish music, dance, and cultural activities. Also, check out the cultural workshops where you may run across one of the Firestarters instructing. The band has just completed recording their new CD album so don’t miss a live performance of their new music along with many Firestarters favorites!
July 7th – AOH/LAOH National Convention, Icebreaker Night, Cincinnati, OH (Private Event)
Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters plan to SCORCH the stage as they headline ICEBREAKER NIGHT at the AOH/LAOH National Convention. The band is set to give their Hibernian brothers and sisters the show of their lives. Our man from County Cork, Roger, has prepared the essence of mighty Irish original and traditional music to lift you off your chairs and onto the dance floor. You'll experience first hand why the Firestarters have been the talk of Irish Festivals across the land.
July 22nd - Behringer-Crawford Museum. Summer Concert Series, Covington, KY
Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters return for a night at the museum... Irish style. The review from the Firestarters show there in 2009 said, ‘The Firestarters set the stage on fire with their mix of traditional and original material. The crowd awarded the band with a rare standing ovation, everyone wanted more!’ Make certain not to miss this invigorating night of music and dance. It's a beautiful venue for a live outdoor show.
July 31st – MilusStock, Whitestown, IN
MilusStock will again come alive with music, food, and friendship. The music will be hot including the intensity of Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters. Plan to have a great evening and bring your tent, because the action doesn’t stop throughout the night.
August 7-8th – Dublin Irish Festival, Dublin, OH
The Dublin Irish Festival is simply one of the greatest annual events of it genre in the world! Every year this festival gets some of the finest Irish global entertainment and 2010 is certainly no exception. Make your plans early to stay in Dublin, Ohio, the first weekend in August to experience fantastic Irish music including Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters. See us Saturday afternoon on the Celtic Rock stage and Sunday evening on the Shamrock Pub stage, then close out the event with all of the musicians together Sunday night. This is truly a "DON'T MISS" event.
August 13-14th – Irish Summer Fest, Wildwood, NJ
Join the Firestarters along the beautiful southern coastline of the Garden State, New Jersey, for a fabulous Irish festival. The Irish will be coming from all over the region for what is sure to be a very memorable Friday and Saturday full of outstanding music and cultural entertainment at the Irish Summer Fest. Arrive early to frolic on the beach, then head into the Wildwoods Convention Center for entertainment including Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters, and Celtic Crossroads, the talented show visiting from Ireland. Roger will also do a Songwriters Workshop, and John will instruct a Bodhrán Workshop, so bring your drum. Do not miss this weekend! We'll see you at the beach.
August 15th – Annual Gathering of the Irish Clans, Youngstown, OH
The Irish of Youngstown are a VERY active community sponsoring great cultural events throughout the year, but this event is like stew in the pot... a mixture of everything great to deliver an outstanding weekend to all in attendance. Roger Drawdy and the Firestarters are raring to perform at the Annual Gathering of the Irish Clans. Be there both Saturday and Sunday for a brilliant weekend of Irish music, dance, and cultural activities. Then gather round Sunday afternoon at 3:00PM to watch the Firestarters IGNITE! Be careful though… the smile you’ve got from ear to ear may become permanent!
August 21st – Summerland Festival, Yellow Springs, OH (Private Event)
Our Druid friends have asked the Firestarters back to celebrate the last night of their annual national gathering. We are looking forward to it. It was so much fun last year, and this year we are staying overnight! Don't want to miss that drum circle.
On top of all that, we will be releasing a NEW CD album this summer, so hold on tight for a great ride with the Firestarters.
